Traditional Abstract Rendering

Looking through my older work I came across this gem of a old school render. These days it’s all CGI and 3D modelling, but nothing beats the versatility and immediacy of putting your brain to paper.
Although commonplace in my portfolio, this render is unique in that it is an entirely abstract form based on the integration of 5 simple shapes (ie.ideal for CGI rendering).
I think I was trying to develop new shapes for products that didn’t rely on the rectangular box as their basis. On some levels successful… the idea wouldn’t make for an ideal DVD player. Or a toaster. Or a microwave…
